The Weston Symphony Series
The city of Weston, in partnership with the Arts Council of Greater Weston, will kick off the Weston Symphony Series, with the first of two symphony concert performances from the Symphony of the Americas.
First is "From Opera to Broadway," set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Cypress Bay Theater (18600 Vista Park Blvd.). The second performance, “Rising Stars Alumni Concert,” by the Ars Flores Symphony Orchestra, takes place at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 13.
"From Opera to Broadway" will feature selected arias and duets from famous operas and Broadway shows performed in musical unison with the full symphony.
Led by Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese, artistic director, the concert will feature solo and guest performances from young artists Eduardo Aladrén, Ron Bohmer (tenor), Franc D'Ambrosio (tenor), Maria Aleida (soprano) and Elizabeth Roberts (soprano).
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, $10 for students, or $35 for both performances.
